Gray Line Tours invites you to take a two-day side trip from Orlando to enjoy the unique culture and natural beauty of South Florida during the Swim with the Dolphins Key West Getaway—a brand new tour for 2009.
The Swim with the Dolphins Key West Getaway package gets your South Florida adventure underway by transporting you to the Florida Everglades, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The package includes an airboat ride in the Everglades, followed by a snack and a live alligator show, where you can have your picture taken with a real live Florida gator!
After leaving the alligator farm, your bus will take you down U.S 1 through the Florida Keys, a chain of islands that straddles the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, which is why many businesses on the smaller islands often refer to themselves as being “Gulfside” (on your right as you are heading west towards Key West) or “Oceanside” (to your left in the same direction).
After checking in to your Key West hotel, which is included with your Swim with the Dolphins Key West Getaway package, your group will spend the evening in Mallory Square. The nightly sunset celebration at Mallory Square is Key West tradition with plenty of live entertainment, food, drinks, and cheers as the sun goes down. There is also an optional sunset cruise available. Key West comes alive in the evening, where the spirit of Margaritaville reigns supreme. Spend time in Ernest Hemingway’s favorite bar—Sloppy Joe’s—or visit the quirky gift shops along Duval Street.
The following morning, after a continental breakfast that is also included in your package, we will head back towards the Florida mainland to the Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key. Enter the exciting world of the dolphins, participating in a playful, structured, interactive program. Choose between the Deep Water Dolphin Encounter (guests must be at least 5 years old, fluent in English and children ages 5 through 7 must be accompanied in the water by a paid adult participant) or the Shallow Water Dolphin Encounter (open to all ages with no language requirement). A participating adult must accompany children younger than 8.
Following your dolphin encounter, we will spend the rest of the day in Miami, where you will have some free time to enjoy dinner, take in some of Miami’s Latin art and culture, or do a little last minute shopping in an authentic Mercado. As the sun sets we will leave Miami for the return trip to Orlando after enjoying two full days of fun and excitement with something for everyone to enjoy!
