VIP Kennedy Space Center | NASA Shuttle Launch Tour

by Gray Line / Gator Tours of Orlando

Space Shuttle Launch Tour by Gray Line ToursFor space buffs, there is nothing more spectacular than seeing a space shuttle liftoff from the only place on Earth that launches shuttles — Kennedy Space Center. The VIP Space Shuttle Launch through Gray Line Tours will put you as close as you can get to a space shuttle launch. NASA has only 8 – 9 missions scheduled before the entire shuttle program ends in 2010 so don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.

The VIP Space Shuttle Launch tour includes roundtrip transportation from your Orlando area hotel to Kennedy Space Center, admission to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, and a Launch Viewing Ticket for the special NASA Causeway viewing site. This package guarantees the closest view possible for a member of the public—just six miles away from Launch Pad 39A. Only NASA officials, the press corps and invited dignitaries are allowed closer.

Enjoy an unobstructed view of the space shuttle launch and feel the powerful rumble of the shuttle massive engines, and be sure to bring your cameras and camcorders to capture an event that only happens a few times a year on Florida’s Space Coast.

Collapsible umbrella-style chairs and blankets can be brought along but no folding sun chairs are permitted. The NSAS Causeway is an open area with no formal seating but it is the best view on property. There will be a launch countdown on the public address system. The tour of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will still take place, without refund, should the launch be canceled on the day of the tour.

For the launch day there will be no standard access tickets allowed on Kennedy Space Center property and there will be no on-site ticket sales. The only way people will get to view the launch on KSC property is through pre-booked programs, to limit crowding. As part of the VIP Space Shuttle Launch tour you will have a special badge to take advantage of the time in KSC to see the exhibits, IMAX movies or visit the space shop.

According to the NASA Web site, Discovery's STS-119 mission to the International Space Station is targeted for lift off 7:32 a.m. EST, Feb. 12, with a launch window that extends for several days afterwards. Your tickets will be valid during this window if the launch is scrubbed on the target date. Tickets for this package are very limited and will sell out!!
