Guests at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention
Center in Kissimmee, Florida know the difference
between dinner and a dining experience, which is
why Gaylord Palms' Sushi Bar,
Sora, provides all of the ambience and
flavor that one would expect from the premier resort
in the Orlando area plus a lot more.
Sora
is where the Far East meets South Beach, and it
is located just off of the Gaylord Palms distinctive
glass domed main lobby. Using the freshest ingredients
from the farm and sea, Sushi Chef Willy Ong and
Sous Chef Edwin Martinez serve up "funky fresh"
cuisine for lunch, dinner or appetizers only.
The full bar includes a number of original concoctions
that tantalize the palate and soothe the soul. Shaken
drinks include "Zen," a combination of Zen green
tea liqueur, peach Schnapps, and sauvignon blanc;
"Heaven," a mixture of Absolut mandarin, pineapple,
orange and cranberry juice; and "Balance," a blend
of Patron tequila, lychee liqueur, sour mix and
orange juice.
Drinks on the rocks range from the "Fragrant"
(Tanqueray Rangpur gin, homemade simple syrup, pomegranate
juice, fresh lemon juice, and club soda) to the
"Opulent" (Amaretto di Saronno, Midori melon liqueur,
Parrot Bay coconut rum, and sweet and sour mix).
To celebrate special occasions, bottles of wine,
premium liquors and sake are also available.
The main reason why guests come to Sora, however,
is for the sushi. In addition to traditional sushi
selections such as Nigiri, Maki and Sashimi, Sora
offers the customized Omakase platter, a multi-course
tasting inspired by each day's arrivals. There are
a variety of specialty rolls to choose from and
a selection of Bao Bun Sandwiches on the lunch menu.
For dinner, diners can select a portion size
for noshing or sharing. The meals include Exotic
Peking Duck with a rice noodle nest, poached quail
egg, and peanut sauce; Shoyu Wagyu Sirloin with
a curry noodle salad, tempura bok choy, ginger hoisin
sauce, and bao bun; and a Miso Glazed Chilean Sea
Bass with shiso scented white rice, Japanese cucumber
slaw and Asian beurre blanc.
For those who are looking for a fun, unique,
fresh dining experience, guests of the Gaylord Palms
need look no further than the Sora Sushi Bar. The
lunch menu is available 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and
dinner is served 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Bar hours
