Why travel all the way to Orlando to dine at the
same chain
restaurants and fast food places you
eat at when you are at home? At the Gaylord Palms
Resort and Convention Center, there plenty of unique
dining options. From quiet romantic suppers to family
friendly settings; and from a lively sports bar
to a rollicking piano bar, the Gaylord Palms Resort
has a wide assortment of culinary experiences under
one roof.
Each
of the resort’s main atriums have a restaurant with
a distinctive Floridian theme, so guests can take
a culinary tour of the Sunshine State without ever
leaving Gaylord Palms. In the Key West Atrium, the
towering mast of the 60-foot sailboat Gaylord is
an eye-catching landmark in Sunset
Sam’s Fish Camp. Kids can have their meals
served in their own paper “ship” while their parents
enjoy a menu with a creative fusion of Floridian
and Caribbean favorites. At sunset, a lively celebration
begins, just as if visitors were at the real Mallory
Square.
A tour of Florida would not be complete without
a trip to the Everglades—the Sunshine State’s very
own natural wonder. The Everglades Atrium is home
to the Old Hickory Steakhouse, which honors Florida’s
rich cattle ranching traditions. The
Old Hickory Steakhouse serves up retro
cocktails, fresh seafood, and the highest quality
premium Black Angus aged cuts. After dinner, guests
can pair handcrafted cheeses with the wine of their
choice at the fromagerie, (cheese table).
Since St. Augustine, Florida is the oldest permanently
occupied European-established city in the continental
United States, the St. Augustine Atrium is the ideal
location for the magnificent kitchens of Villa de
Flora. This “European market” style culinary experience
is set in a grand dining room of an old-world mansion.
Chefs invite guests to sample their culinary creations
at six kitchen stations and fresh herbs are available
for use at each table. A seasonal market-inspired
menu features meals from the countries of the Mediterranean—France,
Italy, Greece, and Spain.
Casual
dining options are also available throughout Gaylord
Palms. Inside the H20 Sports Bar and Grille, diners
can watch their favorite teams on television screens
located throughout the restaurant. Outside, guests
can enjoy large tropical drinks and dine poolside,
in an atmosphere reminiscent of the famed sidewalk
cafes on Miami Beach’s Ocean Drive. For those who
are not in the mood for cocktails, the
Java Coast in the Emerald
Plaza features unique coffee drinks, fresh bakery
items, sandwiches, salads, wine, and beer. The
Emerald Plaza is also
home to a Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream Shoppe and Auggie’s
Piano Bar, which has a nightly piano duel beginning
at 9:00 p.m.
Since some visitors prefer to “dine in” when
they are on vacation, the Gaylord Palms Resort and
Convention Center offers an in-room dining menu
with an array of food and beverage options. Guests
can eat undisturbed in the privacy of their room
or have a gourmet candlelight dinner served butler-style.
Whether you choose to dine in or eat out on the
resort grounds, the culinary experiences at Gaylord
Palms are guaranteed to be out of the ordinary.
