After winning the Super Bowl, you’ve probably heard a player be asked what they are going to do next. The reply that most players give is, “I’m going to Disney World!” But did you know that the players actually mean it when they say it? Walt Disney World has routinely put parades on to celebrate football accomplishments, making it an attractive destination to celebrate your team’s victory.
University Of Central Florida Knights Parade
The University of Central Florida Knights football team recently completed an undefeated 13-0 season that ended with a victory in the Peach Bowl, leading the team to declare they had completed a championship season. The season came as a surprise to many of the team’s fans. As a result of the team’s success, Disney World hosted the team for a victory parade at the beginning of the year.
The parade drew thousands of fans, who were given the opportunity to interact with the players they routinely see on the field each week. The parade also featured prominent members of both the Disney World and the University of Central Florida communities. For example, one parade car featured Mickey Mouse in the front seat, with University President John Hitt and university Athletics Director Danny White in the back. Photos of the event can be found here.
Super Bowl Parade
Disney World also routinely holds a parade for the winner of the Super Bowl. This parade is typically geared toward the Super Bowl MVP, although it generally turns into a celebration of the entire team’s accomplishments. The parade typically runs down Main Street, USA, right through the heart of the park.
Last year marked the 30th anniversary of the parade. During the parade, the Super Bowl MVP rides atop a float alongside popular Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy, who are dressed in football jerseys. The Super Bowl MVP often spends the rest of the day enjoying the various rides the theme park has to offer. Fans are granted the opportunity to ride alongside the MVP as if they were any other park-goer. It’s an intimate experience that fans are sure to remember for a long time.
Celebrate With Your Team
In a family environment attending a championship parade at Walt Disney World allows you to celebrate your team’s accomplishments in a warm, welcoming environment that’s fun for all. For example, if you were to celebrate the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory in Philadelphia, you and your children would have to fight through brutally cold temperatures and even worse crowds.
When celebrating in Orlando, you’ll avoid both of those. You’ll be able to celebrate with your team in a family environment that is more intimate than the Super Bowl parades hosted by individual cities. Plus, celebrating your team’s victory in Orlando gives you the chance to make an entire vacation out of the trip. There are plenty of attractions at Walt Disney World, and the surrounding Orlando area is filled with things to do and places to eat.
