Are you planning your family vacation for 2020? Look no further than Orlando, the city of magic!
It’s true that we are biased because we are already madly in love with all things Orlando and others agree with us. For example, did you know that Orlando has been featured as one of the best places to visit in 2020 by Forbes?
Release your Inner Child
The capital of theme parks is the perfect place to become a child again and put your adult life full of responsibilities on pause. Each day is filled with imagination and adventure as you can:
- Meet your favorite childhood Disney characters at any of the 4 kingdoms of the epic Walt Disney World Resort
- Splash around all day, without a care in the world at Aquatica Orlando
- Become an adrenaline junkie on the rollercoasters at Universal’s Island of Adventure
- Go back to school (a magical school that is) at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
- Fall in love with your favorite marine animals at SeaWorld Orlando
- Step into your favorite movies at Universal Studios Florida
Orlando is More than Just Theme Parks
Orlando is a fascinating city that has it all. It is so much more than the theme park capital of the world.
It is worth exploring the neighborhoods of Orlando. You won’t regret a day at Winter Park or Downtown Orlando. When you want a quieter relaxing day, away from the crowds, look to the areas surrounding the city.
Orlando has interesting museums, incredible restaurants, exciting dining experiences, and huge shopping malls. Activities in Orlando are diverse and not limited to waterslides and rollercoasters.
To explore alternative activities to Orlando’s theme parks read, The Best Live Dining Experiences in Orlando and Events and Special Experiences at the Florida Mall in Orlando. You can also take a look at Orlando’s past events in Entertaining 2019 Events in Orlando (not at a theme park), as many events are repeated each year.
The Weather
Orlando weather is practically perfect, all year round, making it a great destination.
Summer temperatures average 28°C (82°F), perfect weather for shorts and a t-shirt. The hottest month is July, which coincidentally is also the wettest. The showers are usually short and intense, so if you quickly find shelter, you can happily wait it out. But, if you do get wet, you’ll dry off pretty quickly as the temperature doesn’t change.
January is the coldest month, 15°C (59°F), and one of the quietest months in terms of visitors. An Orlando outfit in winter isn’t too encompassing as a pair of jeans and a couple of layers on top will be sufficient. This is the best time to wear your Disney or movie sweatshirt/ hoodie with pride.
Please wear sunscreen!
Hotel Selection
Orlando has more hotel rooms than any other place in the US and they provide a huge selection of services and experiences. So, no matter what hotel experience you want during your time in Orlando, it is available!
Do you want to be seconds away from your favorite theme park, in the hustle and bustle of International Drive or amongst the peace and quiet of a golf course?

Always Something New, Even in 2020
Just because you have visited Orlando before doesn’t mean you’re not welcome or completed your Orlando experience. Year after year Orlando has something new to offer newbies, return visitors and local residents.
2020 has plenty of updates and new additions on the way, such as The Bourne Stuntacular at Universal Studios Florida and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railroad at Disney World Resort.
But have you experienced the most recent new Orlando attractions? Here are few of the latest additions to Orlando:
- Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
- Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Orlando StarFlyer at ICON Park
- Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure at Gatorland

Day Trips
Another great reason to visit Orlando is its location. The city itself can entertain you for more than 200 days, but there are also plenty of other exciting and must-see destinations nearby.
Popular day-trips include a visit to the Everglades, Miami, Saint Augustine, and Kennedy Space Centre, to name a few. For more information about a day trip that includes visiting NASA read: Orlando Day Trip: Canaveral National Seashore Florida
After reading about all the amazing things Orlando has to offer, how can you visit anywhere else this year? We love Orlando and think you will too!
