What is the onePULSE Foundation?

The onePULSE Foundation is a 501(c) 3 incorporated by the owner of the Pulse nightclub. The main goal is to create a sanctuary of hope following the tragic Pulse nightclub tragedy of June 12, 2016, to honor the 49 angels that were taken along with the 69 others who were injured and countless first responders and healthcare professionals who cared for them.

The fund is aimed to support a memorial that opens hearts, a museum that opens minds, educational programs to open eyes, and legacy scholarships that open doors.

Back in 2021, President Joe Biden signed a bill designating Pulse nightclub as a National Memorial. The event was a meaningful one, especially to the families of the 49, survivors, first responders, and all the lives affected. It’s also a clear and straightforward message to the LGBTQ+ community that the tragedy matters and will never be forgotten for future generations and that love will prevail over hate.

What are the programs and events?

The one Pulse Foundation is more than just a nonprofit group – it’s a community. There are several programs and events by the foundation. If you want to know more about the upcoming programs, events, and community updates, click here.

Scholarships

One of the missions of the foundation is to provide academic opportunities to recipients who embody love, hope, unity, acceptance, courage, and strength.

The 49 Legacy Scholarships were established in 2019 based on the respective victims’ interests, careers, or aspirations. The scholarships inspire and empower students who share similar dreams, ambitions, and goals.

The onePULSE Foundation awards 49 scholarships every year, each up to $10,000 for use at an accredited institution of higher learning, including career and technical schools.

During the assessment of scholarship applicants, some of the factors taken into consideration include the applicant’s personal story, financial need or independence, strong academic or self-improvement interest, and proven track record of leadership, community participation, and/or work experience. Priority will be given to applicants who are immediate family members of the 49 victims as well as survivors of the tragedy and first responders to the event.Drop By At The Pulse Memorial in orlando Florida
